Condenser fan motor slowing down. On models with a rear condenser fan, basement dust and lint slow the motor until head pressure climbs and the compressor trips on overload during warm spells. The tell is a unit that cools fine in winter and struggles in summer. A new fan motor and a full coil cleaning fixes it, and I check the compressor amp draw afterward to confirm the fix held.
