I inspect the burner box, the ceramic radiant rods, and the drip system together, because if salt got to the burners it usually got to the rods too. Burner replacement carries our one year major parts warranty.
Oven will not light or lights late. The RGS oven ignition depends on a clean electrode gap and a healthy control module. When the oven whooshes on late or fails to light on the first try, I check the electrode, the ground path, and gas pressure in that order. On Alameda's older homes I verify pressure first, since a starved line produces the same symptom as a failed module.
