The new-construction side brings its own calls. Builder installs are fast, and I regularly find hoods vented with crushed duct or ranges that were never leveled, which shows up later as noise or uneven baking. On older Fremont homes, the calls are the normal wear items. Either way, $75 diagnostic, credited to the repair, written quote before work.

What we close on the truck.
- Oven door won't close flush. Z-Line oven door hinges lose tension over time, and on the bigger 48 inch ranges the door weight speeds it up. A door that sits proud at the top leaks heat, stretches preheat, and cooks unevenly. New hinges restore the seal. I check the gasket at the same time, since it fails from the same heat leak.
- All burners sparking weak or not at all. When every burner clicks lazily or nothing sparks, the problem is upstream of the burners, at the spark module or its power feed. One shorted electrode can also drag the whole module down. I isolate which it is before replacing parts, because the module is the pricier of the two.
- Hood motor hums but barely spins. The run capacitor on the hood blower fades before the motor does. You get a hum, a slow start, or a fan that only wakes up on high. A capacitor is a cheap fix that saves the motor, so it's worth calling early instead of running it like that for months.

How do you get to Fremont from San Ramon and how long does it take?
Down 680 over the Sunol grade, about 30 minutes to most of Fremont. We often pair Fremont with Pleasanton on the way down or continue to Newark and Union City after, so Fremont sits in the middle of a regular route. We run 7 days a week. -

Do you service both the range and the hood on one visit?
Yes, and I'd encourage it. Looking at both units while I'm there is cheaper for you than two separate calls. Written quotes come per repair, so you can approve one and skip the other.
