GE Monogram double oven shutting down, Walnut Creek
The upper oven on this Monogram double kept overheating and cutting out mid-bake, with a cooling error on the display. When a wall oven shuts itself down like that, the safety system is doing its job. The real fault is almost always the cooling fan.
That’s what we found. The cooling fan motor wasn’t spinning, so heat pooled in the cavity and tripped the cutout. We put in a genuine GE fan motor and ran both ovens to check airflow and temperature balance.
Both cavities hold temperature now, the shutdowns are gone, and it’s quieter than before. Monogram is GE’s high-end line, but the parts that fail are the same fans, sensors, and boards we replace on Profile and Café ovens, and this one was a straightforward swap.
