LG fridge that ran all day and stayed warm in San Ramon
The call A San Ramon homeowner had an LG refrigerator running constantly but never getting properly cold. Compressor going the whole time, box still warm. That combination usually means it’s low on refrigerant.
What we found Gauges confirmed it. Pressure was well below normal, and we traced the leak to the evaporator line. Once the refrigerant is gone the compressor just runs and runs against nothing.
The fix This is sealed-system work, and we’re EPA certified for it. We repaired the leaking section of the evaporator line, pulled a vacuum on the system, made sure it held, and recharged with the correct amount of refrigerant. Then watched the temperatures come down and settle.
How it turned out Both compartments hold temperature now and the compressor cycles normally instead of running flat out. The repair came in well under the price of a new fridge, so keeping this one was easy. If the leak had been buried in the foam of the cabinet where we can’t reach it, the answer would have been replace, and we’d have said so on the diagnostic.
