The call
Danville homeowner. Their Viking built-in had quit cooling and the front display was blank. Buttons did nothing. Food was already going soft, so we treated it as a same-week priority.
What we found
We ran the $75 diagnostic first. Power was reaching the unit, but the main control board wasn’t passing signals to the compressor or the temperature sensors. That’s why the panel was dead and the box was warming. On these built-ins, the board is the usual culprit once power checks out and the sensors read clean.
The fix
Once the board was confirmed and not a sensor or a harness, we ordered the genuine Viking part, pulled the decorative panels carefully, and set the new board. Then we checked the compressor, both fans, the lighting, and the sensors before closing it up.
How it turned out
The fridge cooled down evenly and the panel woke up and took every command. No scratches on the cabinetry, one part order, back in service. If your Viking built-in has a blank panel or won’t hold temp, schedule a visit and we’ll tell you straight whether it’s the board or something cheaper.
