What breaks. What we fix.

Bosch dishwashers drive most of the Bay Area Appliance Repair Service call volume, and they’re where we start. The 800 Series and Benchmark share the same recirc and drain pumps as the 500 Series, so when a bearing gets loud or the drain pump grinds, you usually hear it before any code shows up. We cover Bosch dishwashers, French-door refrigerators, induction cooktops, and wall ovens across 39 East Bay and Tri-Valley cities.

The calls we get on Bosch

Dishwashers first. The Benchmark’s Crystal Dry zeolite tank can leave dishes wet on top and dry on the bottom with no error at all. That’s the heater-tank module, not the door vent fan the YouTube videos point at. We run a service cycle and read the tank’s temperature rise before ordering a part, so you don’t pay for a guess.

The 800 Series French-door fridge has a freezer-icing habit: the drain line freezes shut, water backs up, and it locks the evaporator fan into the rear wall. You get a week of fan rattle, then a warming fresh-food side. One trip: thaw the line, replace the drain heater and the fan motor.

Induction cooktops throw F47 or E5 for an overheated IGBT power module. Nine times in ten it’s a dust-blocked cooling vent under the glass, not a dead board. We vacuum the fan intake and heat sink and verify the IGBT temp with a probe. That saves a $900 board over a $5 dust problem.

Wall ovens use the hidden European bake element. When it goes, no glow underneath and the oven runs cold. Two hours, one visit, if you give us the model number before the appointment.

The built-in fridges, briefly

Bosch’s built-in side-by-side units run an inverter compressor and a magnetic solenoid valve that splits refrigerant between the fresh-food and freezer coils, so one-sided cooling is usually that valve or its control, not the compressor. We read the NTC sensors and check the valve before we ever open the sealed system. The motorized glass shelf and the temperature-controlled drawer are the other two built-in calls. Bosch revised the shelf mechanism across several build dates, so the right fix depends on your unit’s date and we match the updated part, not the old one.

Repair or replace

Dishwasher pumps, drain heaters, fan motors, and bake elements are almost always worth fixing on a Bosch. The one to think hard about is a sealed-system fault on an older built-in, where the part and labor start to approach real money. After the diagnostic we give you both numbers and an honest call.

The visit is $75, credited to the repair, then a plain repair-or-replace price. Schedule a visit and tell us what it’s doing.

A Water Inlet Valve, On Camera

The water inlet valve from a refrigerator. Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has one. The fittings can leak, or the solenoid fails and you lose water to the dispenser and the ice maker.

A Gas Oven Burner and Igniter, On Camera

A gas oven bake burner lighting with an even blue flame after service. The white bar is the glow-bar igniter, and when it weakens the oven will not heat even though it still glows. This runs in pro-style and built-in gas ranges too.

Cities we cover for Bosch.

Bosch questions, answered.

  • My Benchmark dishwasher is leaving dishes wet on top. Why?
Crystal Dry zeolite tank failure. The fix is the heater-tank module replacement, not the door vent fan. We test the zeolite tank temperature rise before ordering parts.
  • Bosch 800 Series fridge is rattling and warming up. What is it?
Evaporator-fan ice-in caused by a clogged defrost drain. We pull the back panel, thaw the line, replace the drain heater and the fan motor in one trip.
  • What does an F47 or E5 fault on a Bosch induction cooktop mean?
IGBT power-module overheating. Nine times out of ten it is a blocked cooling-fan vent under the cooktop, not a board failure. We clean, verify, and the cooktop is back in service.
  • Do you replace Bosch wall oven elements?
Yes. The European-style hidden bake element is a two-hour single-visit job if we have the model number ahead of the appointment.
