We flex-test the loom during diagnosis instead of guessing at boards, because the loom is the cheaper and more likely culprit on older units.

An ActiveSmart unit with a warm fresh-food section and a freezer that sounds like the fan is hitting something has ice on the evaporator, and that means the defrost circuit failed.
