What breaks. What we fix.
Yes, we service Fisher & Paykel. Here’s the honest read for an owner, without the sales pitch.
The DishDrawer is the unit most people call about, and it fails in a few predictable spots. The lid actuator wears out around year five, and you get an F1 code with a drawer that won’t start. Dishes coming out wet on the top drawer is usually a dry rinse-aid reservoir or the drying fan, not a dead heater, so check the rinse aid before anyone buys a part. A drawer that goes dead mid-cycle is often the flood switch in the base tray tripped by a small leak, not the controller. These drawers keep a fault log, so we read it and run the test cycle instead of guessing.
On the fridges, the ActiveSmart French-door units get a loud, coming-and-going rattle from the fresh-food evaporator fan. The fan’s a clean swap, roughly $140 in parts and about half an hour. The column fridges (RS90, RS36) throw a comms fault where the fridge looks dead but the compressor’s running, usually a worn ribbon harness at the door hinge. Gas cooktops on the OB and CG series throw a flame-failure code when the thermocouple weakens, and we keep the common ones on the truck.
Repair or replace: parts move through the New Zealand supply chain, which has gotten reliable the last couple of years, so most Fisher & Paykel faults are worth fixing rather than tossing a good machine. The exception is an older DishDrawer stacking up two or three failures at once. We’ll tell you which one you’ve got.
The $75 diagnostic is credited toward the repair. After we’ve seen the fault you get a written repair-or-replace call and a price, never a number over the phone.

Fisher & Paykel questions, answered.
-
My DishDrawer lid won't lock. F1 fault. What now?
Lid actuator failure. We replace the lid motor and the seal together. Doing only the motor leads to a leak within six months. -
Are Fisher & Paykel parts available?
Yes. The supply chain through the New Zealand parent has gotten reliable in the last two years. Most repairs are one visit. -
Why is my RS90 column showing a comms fault?
The ribbon harness on the door hinge wears at the bend point. We pull the door panel and replace the ribbon. The control boards themselves are usually fine. -
Do you service OB and CG cooktops?
Yes. Most flame-failure codes are a weak thermocouple. We carry the common thermocouples and ignitors on the truck.
